Welcome to the first day of the stitch me up blog hop.
It is also my day and I am very happy to be a part of it.
It was not an easy task to decide which of the 8 patterns to stitch. Thank you so much Mme Samm , Cyndi and Debbie for the lovely patterns!
But from the beginning I new, that I wanted to stitch this lady. I already had the fabrics in my mind and also a suitable project: a drawstring bag for our daughter where she could put all the small stuff when she is travelling.
The fabric handle is very practical and you can hang the bag with all the small stuff wherever it is needed.
The size of the bag is great and it would even be possible to fit a pair of elegant shoes into it.
Although my daughter was quite happy with the bag , my fabric choice was not her taste! Pink and light blue are out at the moment, lol!
She mentionned that the lady looks quite french which made me just sew another bag, after her taste.
Some fabrics by French General with a sentence in french makes the bag look quite french, doesn't it?
Now we both have one and we are happy! Lol!
The pattern for the bag you can find here at allpeoplequilt!
Then there was this flower pattern.
Last year I learned to sew and stitch my first crazy block and I love it!
I found that this flowerborder would fit the block nicely and so I came up with this little quilt.
This quote became a personal challenge for me right now. It is easy to say but not that easy to live by!
The dotty border was just calling for embellishement and so I quilted those flowers around some of the dots.
And this is how my deco corner above our computer looks at the moment.
And this is my third project.
May I introduce my new helper - Charlie, the owl
I followed the pattern for the owl, which I found in the German magazin "patchwork special, the best 100 ideas". Sadly I din't have the batting suggested and realised, that it will never work with the one I used. Much too soft! So I took a tin and sewed the pieces around it. Now I have a strong utensilo which I really love. Isn't he cute?
And here is a chair still under construction, this will still take some time, lol!
|sorry can't turn it right|
Thank you so much for visiting! And a big thank you also to Mme Samm and Jane our cheerleader for this hop!
