Aprilshowers - and it is my day today too!

Willkommen zum Aprilshowers Mugrug Bloghop! Unglaublich all diese kreativen Mugrugs von letzter Woche!!!! Wie ein bisschen Sonnenschein im trüben Alltag!
Welcome to the aprilshowers mugrug bloghop! Unbelievable all those creative mugrugs from last week. Like a little sunshine in these grey days!
But since saturday the sun is shining here too and I am so enjoying it!!!!

A very big thank you to Erin, our chearleader, and to Mme Samm, the lady behind all the bloghops! It was so much fun again!

Aprilshowers: Sun, rain, tulips, wind, umbrellas, raindrops... went through my brain. I tried to connect all these and came up with this final sketching.

Tadaa!
Tadaa! Here is my april raindrop mugrug. Those umbrellas have stolen my heart. Since a while I wanted to try the raw edge applique. I did not have the courage to do it by machine, so I stitched it by hand - and love it!

I couldn't decide which picture I love more, lol!
Do you see the little loop in the binding. I thought it is too sad to put the mugrug into the cupboard when not in use, and this way I can hang it like a decoration.
For me the dandelions  just belong to april. We have so many of them in our garden. And every year we have fun with our kids to blow them away!
The fabric is going from dark to bright and I just had to add a rainbow.
a close up
And then I found this wonderful fabricpanel in my stash.
I couldn't help myself and just had to try out a bigger umbrella.
And during sewing this song came into my mind, which has touched my heart. This is the chorus:

‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

It is by Laura Story and if you like to listen and read the song, here is the link:

http://youtu.be/dKgktNz6ICs

I did print the first sentence of the chorus onto fabric and stitched it on;  sun and raindrops remind , that both belong to our lives.
Hier nochmals als Trio!
And here all three together again!
                            Vielen Dank für den Besuch!
Thank you so much for your visit!
Und nun viel Spass beim weiterhoppen. Hier sind die links vom heutigen Tag:
