see you in september...bloghop - my day

Willkommen beim  Bloghop: ...see you in september!
Vielen Dank Mdm Samm und Shari fuer das Organisieren und Chearleaden! Herrlich immer wieder, wieviel Inspiration da zusammenkommt! Wow!
Welcome to  the bloghop: ...see you in september!
Thanks so much Mdm Samm and Shari for organising and chearleading us! Wonderful how much inspiration comes together here and I really was looking forward to be part myself again this time.

The task was to show  3 summerprojects  and one of those had to be made with gingham fabrics by Riley Blake.

Mmh....
I enjoyed summer very much despite the quite cool weather and the rain..... in our garden grew a lot of fruits which "had to" be canned! This is not only work but also fun for me.
This year for the first time I even made some rose jelly. Mmh...
For my sister-in-law's birthday I needed a gift and so this was the first summerproject I made. A frame bag with a self drawn and stitched flower bouquet on it.
And as I had my birthday just two days after her I designed one for myself too with my favourite flowers.
Sadly the weather then was not so nice to take pictures. But I took andvantage of the lovely september sun  and have set at least my sunflower bag in scene once again.
these are the real colors....

Then every year I look forward to the lavender in the garden, and  this leads us to my second project.
Ein duftendes Lavendelkissen. Es ist groesser geworden als geplant. 5x5 inch....
A fragrant lavender pillow. It got bigger than planned. 5x5 inch.....
For the second one unfortunately I did not have enough lavender and so I filled in some rice too. Sadly I did not think ahead that it will be heavyer and so not very suitable to hang up. Now I use it as a fragrant pincushion....
Schon laenger wollte ich leere Spanboxen  in etwas Huebsches umwandeln.
For some time alread I wanted to convert empty boxes into something lovely.
For this  the gingham fabrics were just perfect.
I wanted to bring some sunshine into the often cloudy summerdays and chose dark blue and yellow from this lovely bundle.

I covered the box, added a doily.....
...sticked some lace around and designed the top
Lol!
Looks a bit like the sun, right? Lol!
And because (as you probably already noticed above, lol)  I often just make two when I'm already on it - here the smaller version:
Nun habe ich ein sonniges Duo:
Now I have a sunny double pack:

Herzlichen Dank fuer's hereinschauen! Thanks so much for stopping by!

And these are the links to the other sewing friends of this day.

Very, very nice summer projects. I have never heard of rose jelly. It looks divine. I love your self designed purses. I like that you treated yourself with a delightful birthday present. We all need to take better care of ourselves. The gingham boxes are sunshine personified. They are wonderful. I love the lavender bags, too. I adore how you use the heavier one for a wonderful pincushion. A girl can never have too many pincushions. Thanks for participating and the wonderful accomplishments.

You've made some adorable stitched beauties this summer - lovely. I laughed when I read about your lavender pillow and saw how creative you were to make it into a pincushion; I can just about smell the lavender when you stick pins into it. :) That's such a great idea to cover boxes and the gingham is perfect. I can see that you've covered boxes before because you look like an expert.
